Leader: O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up.

People: You discern my thoughts from far away. You search my path and my lying down,

and are acquainted with all my ways.

Leader: How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

People: I try to count them – they are more than the sand, I come to the end – I am still with you.

All: Let us worship God!

A Time for Children Kellie Henry

CONFESSION

Call to Confession Bob Nelson

Leader: Come find us here loving Jesus, those who are always sinners and sometimes your small saints in

moments of faithfulness.

People: For no one is outside the love of God.

Leader: In full confidence of your love and forgiveness, let us confess our sins before God and one another.

Prayer of Confession (Unison) Bob Nelson

O Lord, you search us and know us. You know the secrets of our heart, even better than we do. You

know how we have run away from your call; still you are ready to receive us again, ready to use us

again. In mercy, forgive and heal our inclination to wander. Fashion us by your Spirit into vessels fit

for good use; that we may bear faithfully what you have entrusted to our care – treasures of Christ’s

saving work for a lost and broken world.

Silent Prayer and Reflection

Assurance of Pardon

Leader: There is no place on earth that is beyond the grace of God, neither within us nor in the world around us.

People: The light of Christ will never be extinguished.

(After Song of Wisdom) (1852-1924)

O for a closer walk with God, a calm and heavenly frame; a light to shine upon the road that leads me to the Lamb!

Return, O holy Dove, return! Return! Return! Sweet messenger of rest, I hate the sins that made thee mourn,

that made thee mourn, and drove thee from my breast.

So shall my walk be close with God, calm and serene my frame;

so purer light shall mark the road that leads me to the Lamb.
