Local Missions

Matthew House

  • The Little Chapel on the Boardwalk is pleased to offer the Matthew House as accommodations for groups coming to the Cape Fear region for mission work. Please see http://www.warmnc.org/volunteers/service-by-the-sea.aspx for more information.

    • Habitat for Humanity

  • We join with members of other local churches once a year to help build a home for a family in need of housing.

    • Salvation Army

  • Prior to Christmas, many members fill stockings for children, who might not, otherwise, receive any gifts; each year we have a special offering to buy layettes for newborns.

    • 4-cents-a-meal

  • A Presbyterian program that collects money to feed the hungry, both locally and globally.

    • 2nd Loaf

  • Every Saturday during the summer, we collect unused food from departing vacationers, which is then given to a local soup kitchen.

    • Tileston Outreach Center

  • An ongoing ministry whereby we donate clothing, household goods and toiletries for needy neighbors in Wilmington.

    • Annual Red Cross Blood Drive

    Seamen’s Center

  • We collect magazines and toiletries for seamen who visit the port of Wilmington.

    • Special Offerings

  • These help support other local missions, such as Domestic Violence and Meals on Wheels.
