Issue Date May 2007 Introduction Thank you for your interest in celebrating your marriage at the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. This brochure will provide you with basic information which will enable you to decide whether the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk is the place for you to plan your wedding. Before a date can be placed on the church calendar couples must review the more detailed church wedding policies, complete an application form, and meet with the pastor.
Who May Be Married At the Little Chapel? (i) Members of the Little Chapel, or members of their immediate family and children, parents, siblings, etc. (ii) Non-Members who have been attending the church on a regular basis, and who are considering making the Little Chapel their church home. (iii) Non-Members for whom a member of the Little Chapel is willing to be a sponsor to facilitate contact between the couple the church staff, and the church wedding coordinator. (iv) Non-Members whose pastor can provide good reasons in writing why the marriage should be held at the Little Chapel. (v) Non-Members who have provided the pastor with sufficient evidence of their Christian faith, and valid reasons why the ceremony should be held at the Little Chapel. In such cases no date may be placed on the church calendar earlier than three months prior to the ceremony.
Pastoral Leadership of Marriage Ceremonies It is expected that the pastor of the Little Chapel conduct all wedding ceremonies at the church. At the request of the couple another pastor may be invited to assist with the service. The pastor will be the final authority as to the content of the marriage service. If the pastor is not available, or the couple desire for another minister to take the entire service, the approval of the pastor and the worship committee and/or the session must be obtained for the minister who will be conducting the service. Music Leadership for Marriage Ceremonies It is expected that the Director of Music of the Little Chapel will play the organ or piano for all wedding ceremonies. In the event that she/he is unable, or the couple has valid reasons for inviting another musician, the guest musician must be approved by the Director of Music. All of the music for the wedding ceremony must be approved by the Director of Music, including that of vocal soloists and other instrumentalists.
Wedding Coordinators Every wedding at the Little Chapel must utilize the services of two wedding coordinators from the Little Chapel. These people may or may not serve as the wedding director. If the couple has valid reasons for using another qualified person as a wedding director, this person must be approved by the wedding committee, and shall meet with the wedding coordinators from the Little Chapel to insure that the traditions and policies of the church are maintained.
Fees for Use of the Little Chapel for Weddings
Members · Use of Church Facilities No charge · Director of Music $ 250.00 Additional fee if a vocalist or instrumentalist is used $ 50.00 Fee for each additional rehearsal with other musicians other than the full rehearsal $ 50.00 · Handbell Choir $ 100.00 · Custodian Rehearsal and Wedding $ 75.00 Moving of Sanctuary Furniture $ 75.00 Church Reception $ 150.00 · Wedding Coordinators Honorarium An honorarium may be given. · Pastoral Services Honorarium The pastor is happy to participate in your wedding. An honorarium may be given.
Fees for Non-Members
The following are the minimum required fees: · Use of Church Facilities Wedding Ceremony and Rehearsal $300.00 Use of Fellowship Hall for reception $200.00 Or rehearsal dinner · Director of Music $350.00 Additional fee if a vocalist or instrumentalist is used $ 50.00 Fee for each additional rehearsal with other musicians other than the full rehearsal $ 50.00 · Handbell Choir $150.00 · Custodian Rehearsal and Wedding $150.00 Moving of Sanctuary Furniture $150.00 Church Reception $250.00 · Pastoral Services $350.00 · Wedding Coordinators $300.00 · Security Deposit $200.00 (This deposit is to be paid with the wedding application and will be applied to wedding expenses. If the wedding is cancelled, the security deposit is non-refundable.)
Conclusion After reviewing these brief guidelines couples that would like to be married at the Little Chapel should: · contact the church office for availability of date, and the pastor to conduct the ceremony. If such a date is available the couple should · request a complete set of the church’s wedding policies, and review these in detail, · complete the application form, and for non-members submit the security deposit. · make an appointment with the pastor. If following this meeting the pastor is assured that the policies of the church will be followed, the date for the ceremony can be set on the church calendar. |
